What is it like meeting with our office?

We are not a profession that evokes a desire to spend time with.

We are not part of the annual self care Goals set in early January by those who believe they will stick to their New Years Eve intentions.

No one ever said: “So it’s January and I’ll get my annual check up from the GP. See the dentist and oh yeah, I’ll see my family lawyer”.

The moment we are contacted by a client it is because of a need to speak with someone. It is usually evoked by some life alternating event that was both unplanned and unpleasant.

We understand the anxiety associated with the phone call that follows. We have spoken with enough of our clients to understand the chaos that is occurring in their minds. The fear associated with the unknown. “I’m so sorry, I’m not usually like this.”

Our response is always the same “well of course you aren’t. Separation doesn’t happen every day, and this is the most intense thing you will ever go through. Please don’t apologise.”

We spend an hour with our clients for their first consultation. Some lawyers will spend two. We usually follow up the first conference with an email setting out our advice. This is because we recognise that for some people, the hour they spend with us whilst it is often comforting is also extremely overwhelming and a bit like information overload.

During the initial conference sometimes our role is to listen. Listen to your fears, concerns and goals. What the future looks like for you.

Sometimes it is to jump in and give advice about the “what if” scenarios that have played out over and over in your mind in the early hours of the morning.

Whatever your preference is our office is flexible. We take pride on working with our our clients to go through this process.

There is nothing set in stone in separation. Your separation can be how you want it to be. Kind. Quick. Respectful.

When you come to see us, we will work together to find the best pathway for you.

We will send you a series of emails before you come and see us with information about our firm, where we are located, where you can park and what to bring with you.

We are always happy to answer any questions and my staff will gladly assist you with any enquiries you may have before you come in.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”35px”][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][qode_elements_holder number_of_columns=”two_columns” columns_proportion=”33_66″][qode_elements_holder_item vertical_alignment=”middle” horizontal_alignment=”left” advanced_animations=”no”][vc_single_image image=”308″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”custom_link” qode_css_animation=”element_from_fade” link=”/meet-the-family/”][/qode_elements_holder_item][qode_elements_holder_item vertical_alignment=”middle” horizontal_alignment=”left” advanced_animations=”no” item_padding=”0 0 0 10%”][vc_column_text]
