We are pleased to announce that our Director and Principal Lawyer, Cassandra Kalpaxis, has been listed as a Finalist for the Australian Law Awards 2020 by Lawyers Weekly!

“I am so incredibly grateful for being surrounded by amazing friends and colleagues who inspire me everyday, have motivated me in my own business and are sharing in this experience with me also listed as finalists in these prestigious awards,” says Cassandra.

Cassandra Kalpaxis has been a sole practitioner for a number of years now and has continued to uplift her business, Kalpaxis Legal, to new levels everyday.

Cassandra reflects on her time in the field and says, “2020 has been a testing year for me, and for everyone else. The funny thing is that we’re only just halfway through it! I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead, because it simply means that there are more opportunities to learn and grow. In that way, I’m so grateful for the hard times. Being a Sole Practitioner in the field of Family Law has been an incredible journey for me. The people I’ve met along the way, the colleagues I’ve worked with and the incredible team at Kalpaxis Legal have all contributed to my own personal growth. I’d like to dedicate this announcement to my late father who I’m sure is proud of me for the amazing success I’ve achieved which he worked hard for during his time on this Earth.”

The winners of the awards will be announced during the live broadcast awards on Friday, 7 August at 7pm. With MC Vince Sorrenti, this live talk-show-style event will include live interviews with finalists and winners direct from their homes.

Following up from last year’s success as a finalist, Kalpaxis Legal is once again nominated in The Local Business Awards 2020!

It’s no lie that in the last year a number of key challenges and hurdles have impacted the community, the industry, and the world as a whole.

“2020 has been such an eye-opener. There’s been some ups and downs but the great thing about working at Kalpaxis Legal is that we are a tightly-knit support network that lifts each other up and overcomes obstacles together. That’s a value that I think makes us (Kalpaxis Legal) who we are – the fact that we are humans before lawyers. We come across people every day who are struggling, many of them doing it alone or unbeknownst to their loved ones around them. We know what it’s like to face what seems like Mt Everest in front of you, all alone. We want to let you know that you’re not, and you will get through it.

The event marks an enormous accomplishment for Cassandra, a now-published author.

The book is being published by Change Makers Press who was founded by Emma Hamlin. “Being in the company of such strong, passionate and determined women in the finalist line-up is such an honour. I’m a firm believer in collaboration over competition. As a family lawyer, Cassandra is exposed to the fall outs of separation every day and strives to focus on amicable and holistic separation that empowers her clients. Focusing on alternative dispute resolution, she is often criticised for not practicing ‘real’ law by male peers. She is embarking on a journey inspired by Brene Brown to accept vulnerability and strive to be different.
